Talks About Taking Advantages
Herman Hudson has been in sports all his life; he even played for his college football team. Not wanting to become a coach, he got a career as a sports director.
His job in Southern Methodist University deals with the team’s problems in conferences, broadcast, sponsorships, and media.
Mr. Hudson, stop by a class of Sports Writing, to talk about his successful experience in sports media. He also, describe what a person needs in a position like his. Hudson, cover it all in his speech, here are some of the things he said:
Does the sport matter when beginning?
“I have never seen a soccer game in my life, but when I heard of the opportunity to become the PR of the Dallas Sidekicks. I said if I want to stay on this business that’s the best lead I got going, so I jump in”.
What qualities are need to be a successful in Sports relations?
“The most important thing is the ability to listen”.
Why did you choose a career in sports Relations?
“I didn’t feel like couching was my route, after I got done playing, I didn’t feel like that was going to be the route to work for me”. “It wasn’t the hours or anything of that stuff, I just feel that it didn’t fit my personality necessarily, but I wanted to find a way to be involve and I felt like the opportunity to kind off work on the events, on the supporting role, and promote what I think are the great things of athletics”
