Nike’s decision for Kaepernick

(Dallas, Texas) – Was it a smart decision to have Colin Kaepernick in the new Nike’s 30th anniversary “Just Do It” commercial? I feel that Nike did an awesome job on the decision to have Kaepernick, as their headline because it is making the people think about their products. I also think this will help the company grow their income even though there is a lot of speculations. For Kaepernick, I presume he is joyful of being in the headlines of Nike because he would be able to fight for what he believes on.

Nike’s commercial is having dividing appeal on their buyers because some of them are feeling angriness, but other buyers are feeling happiness. The reason why people are angry is that they believe Kaerpernick should not be on the headline because he did not stand up when the national anthem of the United States was being played on the football stadium. When a person does not do this, it is a sign of disrespect towards the nation because you are not honoring the nation, if you are not standing up. For the other people who are happy they believe Kaepernick did the right thing because he is showing his freedom of speech and also if you believe on something to just do it like the companies trademark.

This whole controversy about Kaepernick, is going to help the company because it is making traffic and free publicity for them. By making traffic I mean that it is getting people to go to their website and see what products or discounts they have. For free publicity is that when they make the people, radio, newspapers, or television channels talk about what is happening with their company they are basically being put all over the place without even paying cent. All of this is increasing their economy because more people are knowing about their products causing the sells to go up. So, for the people who are against this is not even affecting the company.

I think Kaepernick should be glad his headlines is getting a lot of attention because it is spreading his quote to “Believe in something. Even if it means sacrificing everything.” That is everything the football player did because when he took the knee he was sacrificing his football career for what he believe was right, which was the stopping of police brutality against the African Americans. I hope this works for him.

If you keep thinking that Nike did wrong for choosing Kaepernick as their headline. Well, more people know about their products now and their income is still increasing. Also, Kaepernick message about police brutality is being spread throughout the United States.
