Putting on the Cleats with Claudia Castillo
Claudia Castillo, a graduate from New York University, has work as a Production Manager with the Miami Dolphins, in television and as a webmaster in the Dallas Cowboys.
Desiring to become better she obtain a job as a social media manager of FC Dallas. Where she helps grow the team’s social platforms by writing post, producing videos and taking pictures to post them in the internet.
Ms. Castillo, gladly went to a class of sports writing, to talk about her dedication and experience as social media manager. She also, explain how to stay motivated when being under too much pressure. Castillo, manage to cover it all in her lecture, here are some of her words:
How do you keep yourself from stressing out?
CC- “I’m like a doctor in call and I’m not curing cancer. I worried about tweets, press releases, making sure everything is out, so I just run at the end of the day to clear my head.”
What were the benefits of doing internships?
CC- “It thought me to be resourceful, ask questions, and ask as many questions before giving up.
Is being a Female in sports a challenge?
CC- “I hate playing the victim, but I definitely think is hard. When it comes to coaches’ and staff, it takes them longer for them to trust you and take you seriously, but they see that I work hard and do my job. So, it is just of building up a relationship and working hard.”
What is helpful tip to build relationships in this business?
‘Being in class with light minded individuals with similar goals, they might take different paths, but all of you have a passion for the same thing and some might get a job somewhere and if they are looking for someone they might go look for you.
